Special Topics in Data Entry

This chapter considers various issues related to the user interface/data-entry screens. It focuses on designing data-entry screens that can facilitate user efficiency and satisfaction with data entry/interaction. As pointed out in Chapter 1, “Introduction,” VB programs operate in the graphical user interface (GUI) environment. Design under this environment is different from the traditional DOS character/keyboard based environment. This chapter first presents important principles that guide the design of the GUI. Several of these principles have been presented and observed in programming practices in previous chapters. This chapter further illustrates how some of these principles can be implemented in your programs.
